Our Road trip to Texas & Tenley's First Birthday Party

What day is it!? Lol. I honestly keep thinking its Monday...
I am so exhausted I can not even keep my eyes open. Let me just say, traveling with a toddler is some hard work. Thank goodness I had my parents help but I don't think I could ever do it alone. ah.
Anyways! We road tripped to Texas to visit my sisters family for my Nieces first birthday party and we has so much fun. It was a super quick weekend trip so Nick couldn't go with us because he's saving up his time off for my sisters wedding so we missed him so much. We left on Thursday afternoon and got there around 10 p.m. and let me just say, my passionate child who I thought was going to be a nightmare was a complete angel! Holy shit, she was so good! I am so proud of her I can't even express it! ;) Friday we hung out with my sister and Tenley and ran a few errands and did some last minute decorating. H had so much fun with her cousin now that they can both walk and are into the same things. It was a blast! Saturday was the big party and it was fab! It was a breakfast at Tiffany's theme (Breakfast at Tenley's) and my sister is so creative and put everything together perfectly. I do have to give myself some credit for coming up with the idea though, hehe! The party was fun but exhausting with 20 million kids and adults and blah blah, you know how a first birthday party goes. I will hopefully post her party pics this week because it deserves its own post. Sunday Tenley woke up really sick so we decided to leave and go to my grandparents house to spend time with them and let my sister and them relax. Its always so hard to say goodbye but we will hopefully be reunited in a few months. I did make a stop at Ikea to pickup the Ikea Latt Table which I have been wanting for quite sometime now but since I do not live anywhere near Ikea it was pretty much a must do on my list! I can't wait to spruce it up this week. More on that later. We finally got to my grandparents in Oklahoma and we finally just got to relax and do nothing! We made our way back home Monday, and it is sooo nice to be back home and in my own bed! I didn't take as many pictures as I always plan to in my head but I usually just get so caught up in the moment of being there that I totally forget about my phone which to me is OK. I love being in the moment and these are the memories that I hope will always be there in my head! So here's our trip in iPhone pictures!

A random week recap

Ok, sickness... Please. Leave. :(
Our house has officially been hit with all these winter bugs and i'm over it... Last week we all had the stomach bug and Harper had an ear infection on top of that and this week Harper has had the worst wet cough and runny nose (for months now it seems). She has been on antibiotics and is on the mend but now I woke up with a sore throat and ear ache. ughh.
Anyways... with all this sickness we haven't really been out of the house lately because I don't want to spread the germs and we just feel like lazy bums honestly.

We did make it out for a little dinner and Target date with Daddy on Friday and it felt so good getting out of the house finally. We went to our favorite mexican restaurant and then stopped at Target for some stickers, lol. H is so into coloring and stickers these days that its pretty much all she plays with. Funny side story, she's pretty good about only coloring with crayons on paper but the other day I was in the bathroom and all of a sudden I hear the crayon going across the wall... uh oh!! Her first wall art ;) Thank goodness for washable crayons right?! Another cute story; Girlfriend started saying "Nick!" one day after she heard my mom say something to her dad. It was hilarious!! He was so mad because when i'm mad at him thats what I call him, and he thought I taught her how to say it but no she is just a little sponge and is picking up everything, so now she runs around saying Nick, Nuck! Ha. Time to clean up my potty mouth. Eek!

We are hoping this week all the sickies will go bye bye so we can all have a more productive week. And momma is going out for a girls night to the Miley Cyrus concert on Thursday! Wooo! No judgies. I am so excited!!! Hope you guys had a great weekend!! xoxo

Harper goes to "School" ;)

Harper has finally flew the nest! hehe. Ok, just hold your horses, not really. But to me I feel like I have just sent my baby to college... HA. Dramatic much?!?! Actually, she has just started a Mom's Day Out program at a local church once a week for a few hours and we have both been loving it.
So a little back story as to why I think this is such a big deal is because since she has been born, I just haven't been able to leave her side. For the first six month I would barely even leave her with her Dad to run to the store. I was just too attached (physically and mentally I suppose, LOL). I refuse for her to go to a daycare and be in the care of some "stranger" so that is why I have always stayed home even though financially I probably should be "working" but emotionally, its never gonna happen. I am extremely anxious and every little thing gives me anxiety, especially when it comes to the safety of Harper. So for Me, sending Harper to a place where I wasnt in complete control and had no idea really what my sweet girl was doing was beyond frightening. Poor boogs is also very anxious and does not do too well around strangers and I just know that has something to do with always being with four (daddy & I and grandparents) constant people in her life. Its not like we never leave the house and socialize but you catch my drift right?!
So when I finally mustered up the courage to find a place, I found the perfect christian setting where the people are so welcoming and warm and the facility is amazing! It even has a full on indoor play gym! I was so impressed and Harper actually warmed up quickly to the teachers and I just knew it was a fit.
She has now been going for three weeks and I think she is really loving it! The first day was hard to drop her off because she wasn't sure and their were some tears from miss H but as soon as she was distracted by some Lego's, I snuck out. I really didn't know what to do with myself for three hours so I just sat there and relaxed. Yup, super productive. At the end of those three hours I could not wait to pick her up and see how the day went. When I walked in she was being held by one of her sweet teachers and saying Momma! They said the beginning was rough but overall she had a great first day. Oh, and her very first "school" picture! I died!!! Every time since then just gets better and better and I am so excited to see her flourish!!
Harper's First Day of School!!!! 2-11-14
Of course before she could start I had to purchase the essentials like a backpack, new cups, and monogram vinyl decals. Duh... ;)
At first I just picked up this Skip Hop Zoo backpack because I didn't have time to find a more personalized one like I wanted. I like this one, but I wanted something more girly for my girly girl! We then received the cutest backpack from Personal Creations that was just perfect for my doll loving little.

How adorable is her new personalized Harper doll backpack!!!!
This really is the perfect little toddler backpack because it fits her little body perfectly and has just enough room for those little human essentials. I usually pack diapers, boogie wipes, extra clothes, bib, pacifier, socks, her cup, and it all fits perfectly with even a little wiggle room for extras!
She loves saying "doll!" and giving her hugs!

Pointing to her bows :)

I also found these glitter monogram vinyl decals to put on all of her sippy cups and I am so happy with how they turned out. Super easy to apply and they have been through the wash several times and no budge!

Love you all! Thanks for reading and supporting our family through all of our little adventures. It means a lot to us! :) xoxoxo
