Harper's First Thanksgiving!

Well the boo's first Thanksgiving was a success! Woke up, watched the macys day parade in our PJ's and napped. We went to my Mom's best friend Connie's house around 2. We spend thanksgiving with her family whenever we dont go out of town to see ours. Our family's all live out of town so it's really nice to be able to go somewhere and spend it with friends! We had turkey, stuffing (my fave), mashed potatoes, corn, crescent rolls, every classic Thanksgiving yummy. I also made my sisters amazing swiss cheese and bacon dip. It is amazing!!! Definately NOT fat free. Harper of course had two turkey outfits. Both from her favorite aunt Tera. It was a great day but of course I missed all my family in Texas, and now Alaska. (YikEs!) I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with your loved ones!!

God Bless Harper

Last sunday Harper was baptized! The weekend started off with my sister coming into town Friday night. Then Saturday we relaxed, hung out, and went to Charlestons to eat one of our favorite salads. Yummy!! Then Sunday was Harper's big day! She wore the prettiest dress that my sister got for her and she was such an angel all day! My step grandparents and step uncle, aunt, and cousin were also there. My sister is Harper's godmother and my uncle is her godfather. We went to mass and she slept the entire time, then smiled and was the sweetest girl during her christening. She did cry when they poured the water on her head, but she was over that quickly. It was a great day and we are so blessed to have so much support in our family. We of course had to do some retail therapy on Monday and my sister spoiled us as usual. She is too sweet. My sister left yesterday and I hate saying goodbye, but I am grateful for the time we get to spend with her! I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Sweet Dreams are made of these... Sometimes

So i've been trying to write this post for 2 days now, but baby girl had other plans. She has decided she doesnt take naps anymore... Where did my good daytime sleeper go? This has led me to a very cranky mom and baby. I'm hoping this is just a phase and will pass soon! So since miss Harper will not nap I decided to put together a collage of what I think helps her sleep. (Except for this week.)

1. Angel Dear Blankie- We call this Harper's "baby." She loves cuddling with this at naptime and at night. It's super soft and cuddly and of course its super cute! We have the pink giraffee, but they have other animals and colors.

2. Summer Infant Princess Tub- I put this bath tub on my Target registry because I thought it was cute and becasue of the princess theme (duh!) but its kind of a pain in my butt! It worked out great when Harper was a newborn. She fit in the insert just right, but now that she moves and wiggles, the insert almost tips over! She's too big to fit on the insert now but cant sit on her own in the tub part. She usually gets a bath every other night.

3. MAM newborn pacifiers- I love these pacifiers! They are the only ones that will stay in Harper's mouth and they are super cute! She is 4.5 months old but she is still using the newborn size and 0-6 month size. We have about 6 all over the house and in the diaper bag just in case.

4. Ciroc Sleepers- I have found that I love footed pajamas the most for night time. Especially these from Target because they have a zipper up the front instead of 20 annoying snaps. So so easy! Also Harper hates having blankets on her so they keep her warm enough and they always come in super cute prints and colors.

5. Johnson's Bedtime Bath- I always use this for nighttime baths because I think the lavendar scent really helps. (or maybe its just in my head. Whatever.) I also love Johnson's because it has been around for millions of years and Harper has never had any issues with it so its a keeper!

6. Johnson's Bedtime Lotion- This lotion goes perfectly with the bedtime wash and I swear it really does work! lol On the nights I dont give her a bath, she still gets a bedtime lotion massage. I love a good smellin sleepy baby!

Today I am thankful for social networking!

I am so excited about this "blogging" journey even though I have no idea what I'm doing!

From AIM, Xanga, Myspace to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram; I've always been into social networking! (LOL. Who remembers those oldies.) Its a love hate relationship though, as I'm sure others could agree! No one cares what gas station you're at or you're duck face mirror picture (which I am guilty of too, but at age 15! Not 25!) EEK! But all in all I love sharing pictures of Harper; even if it drives all of my non parent Facebook friends crazy. Unfriend me please! And I love the entertainment of some peoples status updates and overshares.. Yikes..

But, I especially love instagram where I can do my favorite things; post adorable pics of my Boo all day long and no one can complain, stalk celebs, and my new fav., connect with other Mom's with beautiful kids! I feel like my Mom followers and Mom's I follow are almost like my friends because we have something in common that my friends in real life can never understand until they become Mom's. I hope that doesnt sound weird, but I only personally know a handful of ladies my own age that have kids that I can relate too. So seeing women from all over the country with similar things going on as me makes me feel not so alone in my motherhood journey! In conclusion: I love my IG friends! ;) Lol.

And also thank you other mommy blogger's for sharing your stories, advice, pictures, and adventures. You all inspire me, teach me, and make me smile everyday! I hope to connect with many more through this blog!

A Castle, Now Zoo

I've decided to start this blog after being inspired by so many other great blogs out there that I read religiously! This is my fairytale! Eh! Maybe not exactly, but I truly do feel like a princess everyday! I have obviously felt this way pretty much my whole life and the princess thing is sort of my alter ego?! (Princess crown tattoo picture to come!) Yeah, thanks Mom. What were you thinking letting me get that at 16?? #princessproblems But no, I'm definately not THE princess anymore. I've passed on my reign to my GORGEOUS daughter Harper Jane who has given me my dream job, and a title I have dreamed about my whole 22 years of life, Mom! She was born June 24th, 2012 at 1:27 a.m. weighing 6 lbs. 8 oz. and measured 20 inches long. I have never felt so blessed in my whole life to have this amazing gift and I thank God everyday for letting Me be her Mom. I am also very lucky to have a great support system made up of my Boyfriend Nick and my amazing parents. Nick is the hardest working Dad out there which allows Me to be able to stay at home with Harper, which I am forever grateful to him for! But we would really be nowhere without my selfless parents who graciously have let us live with them for the past 6 months or so until we can get on our feet! I can also never repay them with how much they have helped us out! I cant forget to introduce our fur babies either because without them the house would be way too quiet! Didnt think I would ever say that since they have literally driven me too insanity today!!! We have Lucy and Jack, my parents Pugs. And then theres Bella, my crazy pomeranian who is my best friend (besides Nick and Harper and my Mom etc.) She was my first baby and I will forever be in love with her because of her companionship when I was pregnant. Four adults, three dogs, and one sweet baby all living under one roof.  Welcome to the zoo!
I want this blog to be my online diary so someday Harper can read about our daily life together and can know how much I love her and treated her like the ruler of the house that she is!
