My baby is almost one... {First Birthday Party Planning}

All images via Pinterest
Harper's first birthday is 52 days away and I am stressed!! Who knew planning a first birthday would be more work than actually birthing the little babe ;) Don't worry though, her whole party is planned on Pinterest just not in real life... As is my dream life but whatevs. Her party theme is pink ombré with gold, gold glitter and of course some crowns and tutus thrown in. Too much? Never for my Princess! Most of it will be DIY since I am definitely on a budget. (I'm pretty sure Nick thinks I'm absolutely crazy (even more crazy than I already am) for having this party planned in my head for months now.) I am also planning a cake smash photo shoot but I'm also going to be doing that myself to save some money for the good stuff, Presents!!!! :)
I am still trying to decide where to have it. I'm not sure if we should just do it at my parents house or go to a party room. I really want to have it at a brewery close to or house (lol, don't judge, it's a restaurant too) because they have an upstairs with party rooms and I think it would be so much easier to be able to setup and decorate there and then just order some appetizers and people can order beer or whatever else because it will be mainly adults anyways. If we have it at the house we have to worry about preparing food, drinks, and not to mention my parents house is beautiful but doesn't really fit my vision for pink ombré cuteness ;) I need a blank slate for all my decorating plans. And let's be honest, this party is really for Me; Us; She won't even know what is going on! Bring on the beer and princess attire!

I can't believe this beauty is almost 1!

  1. OMG we are going to have the SAME birthday party! Haha. I'm getting that EXACT cake made and I'm also doing the donuts. I'll also have princess/crown stuff floating around. Not doing the ombre theme though. Only with the smash cake. Can you just come to Houston and we can have the girls birthday's together!?!? Haha. Can't wait to see the outcome!!! Can you believe our girls are almost ONE!!! Crazyness!!!

  4. Don't stress! ENJOY IT! They only turn 1 ONCE! I love all of your ideas though. I cannot wait to see the finished birthday party outcome. I know it will be all frilly, pink and awesome. I sometimes wish I had a girl so I could go all out on pink and glitter, but then remember that I am not a huge "pink" fan. So I live viciously through everyone else who has little baby girls. Thanks :)
