Shopping Is My Cardio

Another new obsession... (I know I am annoying, two in one week... sorry). But really, I am so in love with my new sweatshirt from one of my best friends new online Instagram boutique Foi Clothing. I can already tell this will be my newest go to because I can wear it at home in my pjs (it is super comfy) or dress it up with jeans and boots and go shopping!! La la love it! She has so many cute items from tops, maxi skirts, scarves, statement necklaces, headband turbans, and more!! She also has the best fleece lined leggings. If you do not own a pair, you are missing out on life! They are life changing! LOL. They are warm and cozy and thick so you don't have to worry about your booty showing through (very big concern of mine HA).

We went outside for a couple minutes today to get out because our cabin fever is extremely high at the moment. Please leave Mr. Winter!!!  So I had my hunny (thanks babe) take some pictures of Harper and I and of course the best sweatshirt ever!! I mean, this is seriously MY motto, life statement, etc. ;) I also realized chasing a toddler 24/7 is also a great form of cardio... I am exhausted.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thursday!!! xoxo

Well, I see where she gets that face from... :/

I heart her <3

Black + White Trendies

I have a new obsession....
Black and White!!!! I am so drawn to literally everything in these two colors! I love the contrast I suppose and I also love that you can wear the combo with every color under the rainbow for an adorable pop of color. And I love versatility with Harper's clothes so I am loving this trend for spring.

And of course my little dolly rocking her black and white :) I finally got my hands on this adorable striped dress and she might be wearing it daily!!!
{striped dress is from Gap but out of stock online. I bought mine in stores so check your stores before it is gone!} {And the most perfect mix of polka dots and stripes bow turban is from Baby Jules Boutique}

Toddler Tantrums

Sooo, lets talk about something not so positive, sugar coated, and not so cute...
Toddler Tantrums
I have really been having a big struggle with these lately and I need help :( I know tantrums and attitudes are just apart of the age and stage but I really just do not know how to handle them in the "best" way... Let me give you some classic Harper examples.

This isn't exactly a tantrum but more of a behavior that drives me nuts. Ever since she was about a year old she has been "scared" of strangers (I know the stranger danger stage but hers seems to be worse than that.) For example she is so terrified of her own uncle who has known her since birth. He does live out of state so we only see him every once in awhile but it takes her a good couple days to warm up to him. P.S. he is a super sweet guy and a dad himself so he is not terrifying and he talks to her very sweet so she really has no reason for her meltdowns. And for some reason she is more inclined to freak out over men than women (except for her Dad and Grandpa).
She now has a signature pout face. Its somewhere between a duck face and pouty lips. Its pretty adorable!
Another little behavior that I do not know how to handle is her reaction to us trying to get her to do something. For example, we have recently started a parent and child gymnastics class. I know she needs more outside of the house interaction besides going to dinners and shopping so this is perfect for her. She is also kinda gymnasty lol. (I know that is not a word but really, she can do forward rolls and wants to be flipped 24/7 so whatever.) Anyways, at the beginning of the class the parents and the kids sit in a circle and do a little warm up dance to a song and Harper does not want anything to do with it! The first time we went I thought OK, she just needs to get use to it and she'll be fine but it has been three weeks and she is still giving me drama. I hold her and do the dance and she cries and says NO! I sit on the floor with her and try to get her to do it (in a fun: OH isn't this so fun Harper! kind of way) and she screams and yells NO! And now I am at the point of just letting her throw her fit and I do the dance and try to ignore her but I am beyond embarrassed. The teachers have assured me that they all go through it but she is the only one doing this even when a new child comes in... :( But she does love the actual gymnastics part of the class so it is not a complete fail, just partial. hehe.
Jumping at gymnastics!
And lets not even talk about dinners. They have been almost too much work than enjoyable. Eek. and Target. Well, we have to make a stop at Starbucks for cookies and milk to get a good 45 minutes out of her but I know that is very common so I'm not too worried about those minor "I am 18 months old and I am the queen!" moments.
I would love some advice on how to handle some behavior situations. Do you ignore them? Do I immediately try to defer her from whatever she is crying about? Or am I just screwed for a couple years?

Happy Sunday Funday!!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! We did pretty much nothing except for today we went to a little outdoor shopping mall to soak up our amazing 60 degree weather! It was soo beautiful!! I'm sure tomorrow we will be back to hibernation mode but I was so happy to finally get little miss out in the sun!
How cute is this red and pink bow turban headband from Baby Jules Boutique. I am loving this beauty because it is perfect for Valentine's Day because of the sweetest colors but it also has hearts all over the red fabric. Gorgeous!!! Get one soon! Valentine's Day is so close!!! :)

Thinking Pink, and Valentine's Day headbands!

Who's excited for Valentines Day!!! Mee Mee Mee!
OK, only for the fact of I love dressing Harper up in all these adorable holiday outfits and accessories. And I have a very special gift for Nicholas but I can't go into detail because he has been reading lately, Hi Babe!! ;)
I actually have been really good about keeping one of my resolutions about not spending unnecessary money (well that and January is a slow month for me... come on clients, don't be shy, its only a little cold!) and I haven't been shopping. I have went on a little Etsy spree thanks to a gift card from my sis but that doesn't really count! ;) This valentines day Harps will only be decked out in appropriate attire that we already own. Well, as of now!  I have already bought a few cute vday headbands so I thought I would spotlight one over the next couple days! Today's headband is from Pretty Little Elm

Hope you enjoyed the Harper bomb!!!!

18 Month Update

18 Months.... How did this happen?? Time, you are a B; sometimes.
How can I already have a one and a half year old. I am in denial. :(
I am totally loving this age though! I feel that way about every age and stage but she truly is so fun right now.
Here is a little breakdown of miss Harper!

18 Months
23 pounds
32" long
19" head circumference

Eating:
Well miss H, you have decided recently that you do not like food... Like, Nothing! The only thing you have eaten in the past month is fruit leathers, yogurt, and maybe some gold fish or crackers. You still drink about 3 cups of whole milk a day and water in between. You LOVE your milk! But, just in the last couple days you have been eating so good again. You are in love with waffles and raspberries at the moment and you love to get on your step stool and watch your waffle in the toaster oven. ;) You still are not a fan of meats and veggies but we will be working on that. Oh, how could I forget your sushi love. You are kind of obsessed with your sushi rolls and can eat a whole roll in one setting.
cup stealer
first time trying queso. She loved it!
girl loves her crab special rolls ;)
dinner dates with Daddy our  are favs!

Behavior:
Lately you have really been testing the waters, (i.e. my patience.) You are not a fan of getting scolded. You put your hands over your eyes put your head down, it breaks my heart but I do want you to learn discipline so I'm sorry boogs. You already throw tantrums and when you are really mad you will find the closest object to throw around. omg. Drama!!! BUT, you are soooo sweet! You give random hugs and kisses daily, and you constantly are saying HI, HI, HI, in the sweetest little voice. I like to think of you as a sour patch kid right now; sour than sweet. LOL. You have major stranger danger issues. Example, your poor uncle Todd who has known you since birth, you are so scared of him. Every time you see him you start crying and freaking out even though he talks so sweet to you and tries to play with you and of course on the last day of our visits you warm up to him. I hope you grow out of this soon because the meltdowns are redic. You are a very good girl though (for the most part) and I am so proud of you!!
meltdown!
running from the camera
the only way she will sit still at Target is with cookies and milk from Starbucks

Sleeping:
Your sleeping is all over the place again... You were doing so good with sleeping through the night in your crib and than we lost the baby monitor and mommy kind of messed up your sleeping by going to get you from your bed around midnight every night so you could come sleep with me. (I don't like not seeing you at night.) You are having weird nights where I put you down for bed and you are up screaming and crying an hour later and you don't stop so someone gets you out and than you are up until midnight and I pretty much have to hold you down to fall asleep. Its exhausting... It is kind of nice that we have been sleeping in until 9 or 10 though! Last night you were so funny. You would not lay down so I turned over and tried to ignore you because sometimes that does the trick but you kept coming over to me and putting your face on mine and saying, "HI!" over and over again. It was so funny and cute but I was pretending to be asleep so I was just giggling to myself and eventually I just couldn't keep my laughing in so I just gave in and kept saying night night, night night, and you would say NO, NO, NO! haha. You are so funny. You do take one great nap a day though that I am very thankful for. Good job baby!! ;) Now lets work on that night time sleeping!

sorry for the flash Harpie

Likes/Dislikes:
Let's just start by saying your favorite word is NO! You say it for almost every question good or bad. It makes us laugh though because its pretty cute! You have different ways you say it too. You still love your "babies" (her lovey's) so much. They are always around and it gives me anxiety when I cant find them because you have to have both at all times. You still also love your paci at bed time and nap time but we need to start saying bye bye to it. (I refuse to let you be a talking two year old with a paci in her mouth.) You love your baby dolls and all your princess babies. You are such a girly girl! You love purses, shoes, jewelery, makeup and clothes. You love taking baths but not so much the getting out part. You love going outside no matter what the temp.. Brr. And of course you love your grandparents and your cousin Tenley and aunt Tera. You also love books, but you mostly just like to point to the pictures and I tell you what it is. You also love "helping" in the kitchen. You stand on the step stool and help grandma wash dishes or cook.
You do not like being told no. You only want to eat what YOU want to eat. You don't like bedtime. And the worst one lately is you do not like it when I try to take your picture. ahh! I really cant think of any other dislikes because you pretty much get whatever you want... spoiled!
her "twins" are always in tow
she loves these talking dolls. Mama, not so much...
she doesn't care what the temp, she wants outside!
toys everywhere!!
squishy!!!
she LOVES her Disney junior
hahah.... um, Harper, what is going on here?!
her new favorite spot. su chef
I love you so much my Harper girl!! You are still the prettiest little girl I have ever seen and I love you more than anything in the world. You are still my BFF and I love watching you grow up! Love you boogies!!
